Honda SH125i generations: K01 vs K77 vs K0R — which one do you have?
The Honda SH125i is one of the UK's best-selling scooters, which means panels, mirrors, lights and service parts are in constant demand. It also means a lot of wrong orders: three generations share the SH125i name, but body panels and most trim parts do not interchange between them. Here is the fast way to identify yours before you order.
The quick year guide
K01 — 2013 to 2016. The first of the modern liquid-cooled eSP generation, with 16-inch wheels, a flat footboard and halogen-plus-LED lighting depending on year and market. If your V5C says first registered 2013–2016, you are almost certainly on K01 parts. Browse SH125i (K01) 2013–2016 parts.
K77 — 2017 to 2019. The Euro 4 update brought revised bodywork, full LED lighting and Smart Key on many versions. Panels look similar to K01 at a glance but the fixings and shapes differ — a K77 front shield will not sit on a K01. Browse SH125i (K77) 2017–2019 parts.
K0R — 2020 to 2025. A ground-up redesign for Euro 5: new frame, new four-valve eSP+ engine, new bodywork throughout. Nothing external interchanges with the earlier bikes. If your scooter is on a 2020 plate or later, you want K0R parts. Browse SH125i (K0R) 2020–2025 parts.
Why the letters matter
K01, K77 and K0R are the codes Honda uses in the middle of its part numbers — for example 64301-K0R-D00 is a K0R-generation panel. If a part number on your existing part contains K0R, you have a 2020-on bike; K77 means 2017–2019; K01 means 2013–2016. It is the single most reliable identification method, more dependable than the registration year for bikes registered early in a changeover year.
