Mercedes Sprinter W906 vs W907: which van do you have?

Mercedes Sprinter W906 vs W907: which van do you have?

Sprinter parts are generation-specific — a W906 bumper will not fit a W907, and vice versa. Mixing them up is the most common parts-ordering mistake we see. Here's how to tell them apart in seconds.

W906 — 2006 to 2018

The second-generation Sprinter. Recognise it by the more upright front end and the older-style dashboard. Registered between 2006 and mid-2018? Almost certainly a W906. Note that many mechanical parts are shared with the first-generation VW Crafter (2006–2017), which was built alongside it. Shop Sprinter W906 parts · Shop Crafter Mk1 parts.

W907/W910 — 2018 onwards

The current Sprinter, launched mid-2018: a wider, lower grille flowing into the headlights, a modern car-like dashboard (with the MBUX screen on later models), and different panel lines throughout. Shop Sprinter W907 parts.

The 2018 trap

Both generations were sold during 2018 — registration year alone can mislead you on that changeover year. The certain check is your VIN: it encodes the model series. Find it on the plate in the door frame or the base of the windscreen.
